Stock Air Intake on 06 es question
Stock Air Intake on 06 es question
Hey guys I was going to get a MAF adapter and a K&N filter for my lancer to boost the performance but had a friend just look at it and as im sure most of you know there is the stock intahke that is right at the frontof the hood sucking in the cool air from the front. He said it would be best to keep that and not to do what i was going to is this true or would the MAF adapter and filter be better?

You wouldent really see any gains from a intake without support mods like headers, exhaust. Even then, gains would prolly be minimal.
You WOULD see something- hear a notable difference in the intake tune, possible 1-2mpg increase in fuel. Nothin real major. Not these 5-10hp increases these places say they make.
It wouldent hurt at all. But wouldent be a huge change either

maf adapter?
Also can someone please tell me what size MAF adapter I need? I went to O'Reilleys (or however you spell it) and they had 2 but one was 3 inch and the other was 4 inch and I have no idea which one to get. I'm thinking the 4 inch but I could be totally wrong.
I see you say your in TX. Where in texas are you located? I may be able to help you. It also depends on what size intake filter. If you buy the K&N intake kit for our cars it should come with the necessary parts.
