timing control module
how mcuh will it be in total after duties and taxes to canada?
and i read somoene say that higher octane = better results for the timing control module? so like 91octane, ull get more gain vs 89 octane?

Hey rock.
This may be a stupid question but can you use the timing control box and the piggyback ecu at the same time?
And are the both easy install/unistall in case it needs to be taken to the dealer?
Thanks love your rrm site

To be fair, I have never noticed any difference with the timing box.
In fact, my brothers drive the car as well, and to be a test, I never told them I had installed that thing, to see if they could tell any difference, but nope, not at all, never, its like its not even there.
In theory it has to work, but how much, dont really know?
8horses....can u feel 8 horses? who can? and that affects like one tenth of a second maybe of the acceleration, more or less.
Or maybe it delivers less.
With an intake, in theory u get at the peak 7 horses, and yes u feel it cause of the change in sound and stuff.
So if this really delivers a few horses, its very hard to tell, but are they worth the $? Who knows, I already paid for that in february and as long as it give me what it promised, then I can move forward.
More horses is the one thing I paid for, u gotta love more horses, even thou this being a N/A engine, its very hard and expensive to add horses.

there was a profound difference in the operation of the car, both feel and operation. On my test drive of a other club members car, we hooked up my scan tool and could see it was running richer (safer) with advanced timing. Mind you this was on a canadian spec ECU.
the gain of 8+ hp is there. and for a small N/A car like ours that difference can be felt. Lets put it in prospective here. 8 HP to a lancer cant be compared to 8 hp of EVO or Even rally Art.
The end game here is. GET A DYNO. Butt Dynoing just isnt the way to go, because there are very real variables that can affect testing. A temp drop, humidity , warm car, cold car. slow reaction times for shifting blah blah blah list goes on.
