Evo turbo
not to be a jerk but i really suggest not dropping a turbo in your car if your not to familiar with engines. there is a lot of things that go into it and if you dont really know what your doing you will have to pay someone to install it correctly. or do what rww33 said and read read read. last thing you want is a broken car with a voided warrenty
haha ya i understand. I wasnt planning on doing it myself. even if i did know enough, i would want someone else to do it. but this wont be happening for a while lol i need to save up the money for it and what not. i know it will be alot of work but its my goal lol
I have a buddy of mine that can build me a turbo system and tune it for around $3,500 (manifold ceramic coated) so I guess it pays to be close to people that do this type of stuff for a living. Alot of you guys say that boosting a lancer is worthless but me i say go for it, its your car and you can do what you want with it.
I don't want to **** on his dreams. but the Lancer dosen't have the handeling to handle boosting, it isn't even all wheel drive. The suspention sucks!!! Ride in an EVO and you will notice a big difference. He's going to look like a poser and get made fun of.
Man SAVE your MONEY!! invest in a car that's made for what you want to do. Trust me I had a saturn back in the day that I was going to modify etc....... Screw that I bought an EVO My wife when I met her had an 06 STI she traded it in for an 05 EVO, then she traded in her 05 Evo VIII for the new EVO X. Point is no matter what you do to your car or what other car you get It will not be an EVO. So what's the point? Save up for an EVO!!!

"invest in a car that's made for what you want to do" I did, and maybe turboing a n/a car is exactly what I want to do. I can buy a computer prebuilt if I want, or I can buy a case and all the pieces and put it together from scratch. Is that wrong, no. To each his own.
What about brakes, Tires, etc..........
OMG...........Come on, you guy's expect this guy to void his waranty, and spend a ton of money in a car that has a horrible resale value, to try to make it into an EVO.
Hey guy you can do what you wnat with your money, but I am well off due to the good financial decisions I've made in life and I would suggest that you keep your lancer stock and pay cash for an EVO VIII or IX that's proven to give you almost unlimited fun!. I have an outlander for everyday use. That way you still will have your lancer as an everyday driver, and an EVO to beat up and kill everything on the street!
Like I said said do what you want. It's a waste of money or alot of money, and stupid to try to modify a car that was not made or intended for what you'd like to do, IMHO.
I have mad respect for you I know it's difficult, I saw and wanted an EVO since 2004 and waited 2 years to buy a 2006. Since then i've had three in my life, and a WRX STI. Patience is a virtue!

All can be upgraded...
#1 Who said I was trying to make it an EVO??? Not Me!
#2 This is going to be a few years down the line, not tomorrow so warranty isn't the biggest issue on my mind. Plus, I know that my warranty will be affected. Doesn't bother me.
#3 Calm down buddy... We're just talking
I will do what I want with my money, and I have also made some good financial decisions as well as hold a master's degree in software engineering that has landed me a GREAT job. Not a worry of mine.
I'm not trying to beat up or kill anything. Just trying to enjoy my time with my car. Again I appreciate your concern.
Agree to disagree
I know what you mean, BUT... when I look at an EVO I think to myself "Damn I want to build that car." See the difference.
