i went to top off my oil earlier today and looked at my intake filter to see how dirty it is to determine if i should clean it now or wait till next week.

i noticed something different about the filter but wasn't sure what it was until i moved closer to the the driver's side.. i noticed that the metal cap fell off! i think the engine's heat soften the glue and it gave up. the metal cap was beside the engine though. the metal cap was rusted too

anyone have this problem? i know its not a huge deal to performance as the filter still works.. (before i get people hailing bullets at this post)

but i dont think things that cost over 200 bucks should just fall apart like that either. gonna contact rrm. but yeah.. anyone else have that prob?

 

havent heard of a cap falling off. sorry that happened. Call up Road-Race, which im sure you're about to do anyways

 

yeah just contacted brian... he replied really fast i think he's working on it... i only had it for about 5-7 months

 

That had happen to me too but i call RRM and the sent a replacement no charge just make sure they send a document to UPS stating that it is a replacement unit or else UPS will try to tax you. That's the thing with RRM they charge a bit more than others but they definately stand behind their product and take care of their customers.
