ROAD/RACE- Hot Turbo Vid
If you want a higher pitch bov than buy one separately. It's not hard to spin tires in a 5spd gts that doesn't have an LSD, I do it at least once a week for fun =P But you can tell the RRM Lancer burned smoke on take off (pretty impressive) and the other lancer wasn't fully pushing it. 5k on an 08-09 turbo kit is well priced when it's been custom fabricated to work specifically for the 4b Lancer. It's only been a year since the 4b's were introduced, Price will drop before most of you seriously consider getting a turbo. Personally I think turbo should be one of the last mods you apply to an N/A car.
Nice work RRM, I seriously hope we see a lot more products from you guys
And if you are looking for serious power gains (like I am if I decide to keep her) Wait a few years and get your hands on a 4b11t. I don't know all what would need to be done for the swap but 4b11t fwd would be pretty insane. And you would have more aftermarket support for the engine.

Well go that route then... RRM is matching price with demand. If you have 3-5k to drop right now in this economy on a turbo than more power too you... but good luck finding a custom fabricated kit designed for your specific lancer that is under 4k. Any new car/engine is going to be expensive to upgrade. I can't find a cat-back for less than $900 for my lancer but I can get a full exhaust including headers and cat delete for a 94civic for around $800. Price will depreciate with demand and when a new lancer is released our parts will be half the price. If you want a cheaper turbo than you'll have to go with a 2-bit turbo store or create your own. Also if you go turbo you need to upgrade your head gasket... That will be the first thing to go.

I half agree. Point is our parts are made in the USA and low quantities. That does not help the price issue. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
ROAD/RACE
P.S. head gasket should be fine. Enjoy the video.

Mayhem7o2 : RRM is expensive? Yeah....but look at how many guys have blown up there turbo RA's, RRM is dam reliable, i made my turbo kit for probably half there price, but i did buy there tuned turbo piggy back because it is reliable and tuned great, i have never had a problem with the turbo or fuel issues or how the car runs, the only problem i have is a little bov flutter. So you def can make your own turbo kit for under 4K, not baching RRM's price so no worries ROCK, just saying it is possible. And RRM charges that price because first off, look at the quality parts, reliability of the tuning, and the longevity of there kit, i forget who had the kit first (help if you want to ROCK) but he put somthing like 40+ K miles on his RRM turbo car, i have put about 10k on mine (due to me not driving it much) but it is great, so you def can make your turbo kit for inder 4K if you know what your doing, if not, then def go with RRM's kit i have not heard one back thing about it Props to RRM
I never said anything about RRM being overpriced... the price is very reasonable. I was trying to convey the message to others that the price isn't bad at all. I was in no way bashing RRM on price. If you look back at my posts you can see I was arguing that if the kit doesn't have a high pitch BOV than you can just buy one separately.
I'm just saying watch the head gasket cuz that is usually the first thing to go once your turboed.

Oh i was'nt lashing out at you im sorry if it seemed like i did, my apologies. Just Im glad another person except me thinks that there kit is rightly priced, does help that they have the market cornered to haha sorry RRM had to say it lol, but i remember back in 04 when i started buying up all RRM parts for my ralliart, and they were great with me and very helpful if i needed install help, great bunch of guys.

im just being real. some people have been in the lancer community for a long time or they buy everyone of RRMs products, or lack the knowledge about other cars, turbos, ect. you think the price is reasonable? take your lancer to a shop that builds custom turbos let them look at it and ask if 5gs is reasonable for a turbo for this car.
