Turbo Exhaust/Muffler on N/A Lancer?

ive seen on other forums and places it was said that you would get a better sound or possibly even more power than a regular muffler with a turbo muffler or catback turbo exhaust. is this true? can you benefit on a NA motor with a turbo exhaust

its impossible to really tell without the data of the exhausts. and the design. I would say no, but that would be an opinion based on not enough info. sorry

Define turbo exhaust and turbo muffler.
Do you mean bigger piping? Straight through mufflers?

Too large of an exhaust ID piping in a NA car will lose torque and most of the gains will be seen at high gears/speeds

most turbo exhaust are 3 inch straight pipes with a non restrictive muffler (if there is a muffler). With that kind of design you will lose back pressure which will result in a drop of low end power/torque but you might see a gain in the higher RPMS, but it won't be much of a gain

I'll have to agree with everyone else and say it's not worth it.

Currently Running no muffler, with just a straight pipe. Basically a home made version of the Works exhaust pipe. couldn't see spending 300 for a pipe i could make myself. Noticed gains in the top end and the sound is clean when taking off. Almost stock sounding when crusing, just a mild hum. The resonator seems to do the job of keeping me away from a ricey sound. Have been running it for about a week now and i'm very happy with it. Kept the 2" oem echaust size as i felt going bigger wouldn't make sense seeing as the midpipe is only 2" anyway. Also have both cats gutted regardless of the legality i noticed considerable gains from that as well. Did the cats and axle back straight pipe at different times and i def noticed an increase in power with the addition of each.
