Is it legal to install RRM's turbo in California?

Hi, I am planning on having the RRM turbo installed on my 09 lancer gts... but I live here in California and from my understanding... I cannot install or add a turbo for my car unless it is C.A.R.B. certified? Is that ryte? If so...Are there any alternatives to make the RRM's turbo legal here in California? Please help I need some answers... thanks a lot!

Lol, you can't install exhaust, intake, or pully in California. Just install it and don't get caught with it. If the police pull you over they might not even know what's on your car. And you don't have to pass inspection for awhile.

Some of the bigger companies like AEM go through that process. Just don't get a super loud fart can to go along with it and you shouldn't get caught.

the only thing legal to install in cali is a playing card in you bicycle wheel, but the cop might harass you for noise violation then.

I remember reading somewhere that RRM is/was developing a CARB legal turbo kit.

Register out of state and then "F" CA me and my wife both carry oregon plates on my 05 RA and her 09 ES
Just pick a state that doesn't inspect...oregon, pretty much if you have seat belts and working windshield wipers your good they don't even care if you have a windshield just make sure your wipers work...

I don't know how it works in the states, but don't you need to be a resident of the state in order to register in that state?
