My 4G94 Mivec build up

As you know i was doing some test with a 4G94/4G93E DOHC hybrid, unfortunately back in mid march i was involved in a accident where my lancer got totaled and sustained a few minor injuries.

After a long battle with insurance trying to play around with their delay tactics i finally got my pay off. And sadly i have sold most of the parts in my lancer including my DOHC project, cusco suspension etc.. etc.. which kills me when i get reminded about it.

Anyway now i am in the process of building a NA 4G94/4G92 gen.2 mivec i decided to open this build up in this forum since people here arent so gay and childish compared to the aussie forums.

Parts used:

* 4G94 block and crank
* Custom pistons from Wiseco or CP
* 4G92 Gen 2 head (non RS)
* 4G92 RS cams
* Forge rods
* 4G92/4G93E oil pump
* 4G92/4G93E hydraulic belt tensioner set up
* ACL rod bearings
* ACL main bearings
* Mitsubishi 4G93 GDI 0.4mm head gasket
* ARP head studs
* ARP bolts

Modifications

* Bore to 82.5mm
* Full engine balance
* 3 Angle valve job
* Head workx (MAYBE)

Preperation

5 May 2009

After pulling my engine out of my wreck i decided to disassemble my 4G92 Mivec head completely. Getting it ready for cleaning and sand blasting for intakake manifold, thermostat housing and TB brace.

Can't wait to see how the build progresses! The cylinder walls of the 4G94 are thin as it is at 81.5mm. I know the FSM lists that the cylinder can be overbore by 1mm to 82.5mm, but how well do you think it will hold up on even thinner cylinder walls?

If it was a honda i would be worried, but seeing this block can take alot more hell than other engines out there im not that particularly worried. In saying that if we did bore it out to 82.5mm there still a reasonable amount there to play with to be honest.

I was contemplating going to get one of those block guards from the b20 series motors but damn it was to expensive to adopt machine shop was quoting 1000AU plus 19.95US for the guard.

He is doing the dohc swap. So if you order a head from him the cam's will fit but they will NOT fit on the sohc head we have.
