What are the chances of getting stronger internals for the lancer?

NA mods = higher compression ratio, but we're already at 10.5, so putting anything higher will start getting a little overkill. You'd be better suited tweaking the rest of the system before upgrading the internals. You wont need to beef them up for NA applications since even with MAJOR upgrades you still wont be pushing what a mild turbo kit would.

Putting on the SRT or EVO pistons would benefit turbo applications where you want to turn up the boost, but really at the same time, if you're getting into the amount of power that would require lowering the compression ratio, you might as well get everything done while you're at it. And i just read the following.

compression ratios
4b11t - 9.0 to 1
4b11 - 10 to 1
4b12 - 10.5 to 1
SRT-4 - 8.5 to 1

So the SRT's internals have a pretty low compression ratio for a swap unless you plan on making SERIOUS power, and in my honest opinion, if you're pushing THAT much power, you're probably better off doing a complete custom engine rebuild, which will cost such an ungodly amount of money compared to just doing a 4b11t engine swap.

i totally agree man, i want to do 9.0:1 eventually, and the good thing is that our rods are already forged, one less thing to buy!! lol

I've been reading through the lancer and caliber srt4 service manuals

you could go with evo internals but they cost around double what the srt4 caliber internals do. The C-SRT4 rods have a longer stroke with still gives you the 2.4 displacement which is why I really like this option over the evo x.

plus the hp range is not far off at all. 285 C-SRT4 to 291 Evo x

From what I've read so far, our heads are pretty well all the same.

I've been browsing the C-SRT4 boards any many guys run 400+ hp on stock internals with no issues. For me that is plenty and I'm not even braking the bank rebuilding my entire engine.

just some food for thought.

yep, if you planned on an all motor 200-250whp car..you kinda got the wrong car..

not downing the OP, i'd keep my lancer as a daily if i could get 200whp all motor out of it without having to spend the amount that a turbo costs.

i actually found some, I think, Evo X OEM pistons for REALLY cheap, but I forget where I found them....also, im 2008 GTS so I have 2.0, not 2.4....evo internals will work great for me lol
