NOOB needs intake recommendation for 2010 Lancer GTS M/T!!!

Just leased my first Mits (couldn't afford to finance quite yet) and want to do some minor mods on it. I've been looking around forums and elsewhere but can't find any info on applicable intakes for the new 2010's, only 2009.

I have an Octane Blue 2010 Lancer GTS m/t (2.4L), and my first upgrade will be an intake for it. Any recommendations?? SRI vs CAI?? Brand??? I was thinking about K&N sri but thats only because I saw people recommend that for an '08. I actually have no idea what the heck I'm doing. So any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

2009 2.4l is he same as the 2010 2.4l. All the intakes for the 09 will work for the 10.

save your money.

Intakes are not worth the money.
you will see no performance gain.

on the 2.4l engine the 2009 injen cai works pretty good and you will feel a difference.

yeah i got the injen CAI also but i have the 08 with the 2.0 (crap) but i love the intake it sounds really good but you wont notice any difference till you hit 3500 RPM. but very very please with it. install took about an hour and a half, they say to remove the front bumper but i didnt just take off the drivers side wheel and get in behind that way

If you go with a CAI, I would get the Injen and if you go with a SRI, I would go with K&N.

Stay away from Fujita!

just wonder... your car is leased and you're modifing... won't that violate your lease agreement? I think you should review your lease agreement before you put in any modify... ^^"

I was originally worried about that, and didn't think modding was even an option. But after talking to some people, many people said it wouldn't be a problem until I really started seriously messing with the engine or frame, etc.

From what I heard, changing the intake is a relatively non-intrusive mod and considered a standard/common upgrade.

I'd surely welcome any insight on this before I actually slap this thing on... (by the way I bought the Injen CAI and its on the way!) So time is of the essence here people.

Thanks for all the help.

you heard someone saying that....!? have you check with the dealer...?? From what I understand any modification to the lease car is violating the lease agreement and they can end the agreement at any point in time...

they usually require you to maintain the car as stock and use only OEM parts... since they don't know your intention to keep or return the car at the end of the agreement....

btw intake is a small modication only if they are drop-in filter... but not changing the whole intake system such as CAI or SRI... ^^"

you better check..!!

Question... since you are leasing the car... so you have to do all your services at the dealer... won't they say anything about the modification...!?
