Magnaflow catback?

I have been working on an ehaust solution for a while now. I have talked to a muffler shop and they have offreed to make a managaflow catback system for me, witha maganflow resonator. i am running rrm header and rrm testpipe, I have an obx muffler now and its really loud. I was wondering what any of you thought about going with this setup if it would make a nice sound a lower deeper sound or is it going to sound high pitch still? Feedback please.
Ryan

some other guys were telling me pretty much whenever u have a test pipe it is going to be a lot more higher pitch but it should be a lower pitch sound with the magnaflow.
Hey ryan what are you doing tomorrow? I need to install my b&m short shifter and test pipe but dont have the right size allen wrench for the install on the short shifter.
PM me if maybe u can help me out.

The big question is has JVLancer changed his headers and taken out his catalytic.

Your exhaust will sound nice and deep and smooth with stock headers and the catalytic. The more you open it up the more "raw" the exhaust sound is going to get. Because all of these exhausts... Greddy, Magnaflow, etc are straight through exhausts, they don't do much to slow down the exhaust gases (which is what you want, and why you put it on) so as the speed of the gases is increased you will get different notes, and louder ones.

We have a 4 cylinder engine, you can't get a deep growl out of them when they are opened up. Just the way it is.

Also, your Maganflow exhaust will deepen in pitch by a fair bit after about 1,000 miles.

I now notice in his signature that he is running a turbo... going to sound wildly different than an NA engine due to the exhaust volume etc (due to the higher density/mass of air that the turbo pushes into the engine).

Turbo's make a lot of exhausts sound really nice . If you think about it.. if you ran at 14 psi (which I know no-one really is) you are packing in twice the air... and therefore in some ways equivalent to the amount of air moving through the engine as if it were 4.0L engine. So more like that big engine sound with a turbo on it.

I have a custom magnaflow catback as well. the link above in the thread has links to the sound clips off my exhaust. I have gotten lots of compliments in person on the sound of the exhaust. It's not super low, but it is a good clean racey sounding exhaust. No rice, no farting, no trying to sound bigger than it is. Just a nice clean smooth "performance" sound.

It is a bit more raw though now with the header and DP on it... but still not a riced out fart can by ANY stretch of the imagination.
