Is there any reason i should...

IS there any reason i should pay $279 dollars for the RRM exhaust plus shipping, then pay the money to get it put on somewhere, instead of going to a local import shop, purchasing a performance muffler for around 150 and adding an extra 20 or so to put it on? If theres a good enough reason i will prolly just get the RRM one but right now i dont see one?

well, you're really comparing apples to oranges. the RRM muffler is a direct bolt on with a wider pipe but does not replace the cat-back. It only replaces half-way past the cat or something, i can't think of the word right now. anyways, they use wider piping which will be used with their cat-back pipe, and that's really what makes all the difference. if you want to save money, you could always just get a muffler and have Meineke weld it on to ur stock pipes, but for a little more than 300 dollars you could have the muffler you want and a custom cat back pipe made at a muffler shop. that's what i did, i took an A'pexi N1 muffler and did a cat back, total cost me 320, which is probably around the same price when RRM offers the cat back pipe and back piece. hope this helps at least a little bit. good luck

You may also want to look at the Buschur cat back exhaust and the VRS cat back exhaust as well. Don't limit your options.

I paid $140 for 2.5" mandrel bent piping custom cat back and $40 for my muffler (normal price is $120).

I am doing similar to Boni. I purchased a muffler and a high flow cat for about $220 or so and am having it all installed for 160 using 2.5 inch pipe. Now that is a full exhaust, you can probably do it for a lot less if you just go from the resonator back or the second cat and back. All up to you.

No reason to buy just an axle back. Really until you get a highflow cat and a header you won't see much of a gain even with a cat back.

True. If you really want the power, do a full exhaust. But cat-back is a cheap alternative with some gain and better sound for those who don't want to shell out more or that are worried too much about their warranties. I say go all out and high flow it all.

Just remember to use 2 cats if you want to pass any state with tough emissions laws test.

I tend to agree without exception.

Basically all you'll change is how your car sounds and how the tip looks.

1 highflow cat should be all you need.
