Well for those interested. Originally I had a 1.5L 4A91 and swapped that for a 2.0 4B11, that was a real challenge(electronics and wiring looms). Yesterday I swapped a 4B12 with my 4B11, it only took about 4 hours. It uses the the exact same wiring and electronics. All I can say is "WOW" what a difference between the two engines considering my 2.0 was a pzev. I love the torque difference.

Nice, have so many questions for you, im planning the same 4a91 out for a 4b11t in,
1. I have a MT, will it fit the 4b11t block
2. Did you swap out the gearbox too?
3. What CILs should i expect
4. Anything i need to pay attention too?

For sure. The longer stroke/ higher compression ratio makes the 4b12 pull much harder than the 4b11. I recommend putting at least 89 octane in it. My 4b12 does not like 87 octane fuel.

The problem with the engine is the horsepower isn't there. You need to swap out the camshaft to an EVO BC and upgrade the valves/springs. With a tune this can safely raise the RPM limit to 8k. Once you approach those revs the horsepower comes out of the engine. I've seen around 200WHP from these mods and a decent tune.

Be mindful of your motor mounts as well. The 4b12's torque moves the engine way more than it should. Mitsubishi replaced mine once already and I'm sure I'll have to do again it in the future.

All in all have fun with that engine. You can beat the crap out of it and it will still push you in your seat like the day you bought it.
