Question: Anyone know if I can swap out a universal throttle cable for my OEM?

Background: I noticed that my throttle cable is fraying and as a result gets snagged, reving the engine up. At first I freaked out the first time this happened because during shifts or coming to a stop the car would rev to the limit and bounce of the red line, making me look like a jack-*** at stop lights.

I haven't driven the Lancer as my daily for over a year now and am just now getting around to fixing it.

This actually is a result of me placing the throttle cable in a bad spot on my intake manifold.

 

I guess I'll be the guinea pig on this one I've ordered the cable and I'll put it on sometime shortly after it arrives.

 

It should work fine...
May have to cut it to size and use your own hardware but it should work.
