Racing CHIP!!!

what racing chip is best? and do they even make any yet? i have found none but i am posting this hoping someone knows something i don't. with any luck there is one, and i won't look stupid for having posted such an ignorant question

i was wondering about this too..i know that the vision imports turbo kit comes with a chip of some sort..but how about a chip by itself???

Well i dont know of any chips but you can always get the Greddy E Manage, see if that works

the greddy emanage is much different from an aftermarket chip, the greddy emanage is only for serious tuners, fiddling with that thing takes knowledge and prectice, a chip is a mod that goes in and never has to be tampered with.

A chip is harder to manufacture than you may realize. It has to first understand the base tuning schema of the stock ECU and then from there, correctly modify that stock profile to be more aggressive. One thing it seems to be about Mitsubishi ECU's is that Mitsu has taken measures to avoid tuners hacking their program. Apparently the Mitsu coding is hard to crack making it non-tuner friendly. I do also believe that they solder down their chips in a certain way making it very difficult to actually get the unit and plug it into a computer, regardless of the code, as mentioned, being hard to crack as is.
