Suggestions on exhaust system

So I have an 03 lancer ls and really want an exhaust system. Been looking around but havent really found much. I'm a college student so obviously don't have a whole lot of money to spend on it. So I was looking for suggestions that you guys might have on reasonably priced systems that have a good sound.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

hmm, ill probly get criticised for this but i went the cheapest way because as long as its 3inch piping and titanium metal all the way thru then expensiveness doesnt matter.

I went with cobb downpipe 3" for 150$
Ultimate Racing Test Pipe 3' for 80$
Greddy Ti-c catback 3in for about 250$
All bolts up perfectly fine and no problems whatsoever, gives out good power too

Ha that's what you get for living in Alaska. I would just buy a Muffler that you like and have a shop weld you up a new exhaust or just keep your eyes open on forums and ebay/craigslist

I personally recommend magnaflow exhaust all the way! I have a custom welded (from local shop) straight pipe with catalytic converted deleted with magnalfow exhaust. Only thing I regret is not putting some kind of resonator on it. Cops seems to not like how loud she purrrrrrrrs.

I had to search around for a while also. Ended up with an SR-S exhaust. glad i did too. sounds real grumbly and throaty. If you go full straight through with header it has a touch of rice tho

Exacly... so 3" is way to big for his needs
2.25" from your local muffler shop and get them to install whatever fart can makes your hear bleed to your liking.

**** i used 4-2-1 headers with 2.25 down pipe with factory cat and a 3" straight muffler and it has more aggressive sound not ricy and great power

No critisism here but do understand the stock na base lancer would very much not benefit from a 3" exhaust, the back pressure would be almost non existent playing havok on his engine performance.

I love exhaust threads....I got the SR*S ebay exhaust from the Nissan GTR guy on ebay, and it sounds very throaty and deep without the silencer in. With it in, it sounds quieter, but a little raspy.

I'm thinking about getting an exhaust too, what diameter is recommended?

N/A? most say 2.25, but performance gains will be limited (to possibly nothing) Better to increase flow coming in first, than going out.

Turbo? if you could just dump it straight after the turbo that would be best, in a straight pipe all the way back, bigger the better
