I think the GTS got the more powerful 2.4 liter engine in '09. The '08 just had a 2.0. '10 and later I know all have the grey taillights ('08 has kinda pinky ones)--I think '09 may have these, too, but I'm not sure. '08 has some different trim inside (bigger cupholders with no flap to cover them, slightly different console).

Yea main dif is the jump to a 2.4 for 2009 and above. I think the 11 uses different brake pads too if that matters.

I actually like the red backlights more than the grey ones. so does 2.0 and 2.4 really matters?

The LCD screen inbetween the tach and speedo also became a color screen for... '10 and up I think. Can anyone confirm for 09?

i'll trade you my red taillights for your black ones.lol
some say that the .4 difference doesn't matter. (some guys swear by it and keep challenging 2.4 to race) 2.4 are alittle harder to turbo safely because of its high compression ratio.

2.0 and 2.4 are both equally useless when it comes to performace mods and whatnot lol. They're both slow, it doesn't really matter.

I think the 2.4 is a little quicker than the 2.0--at least on acceleration. I drove the 2.4 after the 2.0 and noticed a little bit of a difference.

The last Lancer is the best, because they come with features previous years dont.

2008 only had 2.0,
Then in 2009 they had the 2.4
Then in 2010 and 2011 they phased in alot more cosmetic and internal refinements. Finally traction control was introduced. sigh...

I am one of those who jumped the gun and bought the 2008. lol but I love my lancer

lol my car isnt anything special. I have been so busy with work, girlfriend, and adminning my local car club in Toronto, that my car really isnt flashy. All my efforts go towards community stuff and projects with partners. The EVOSOUL guys in Cali unveiled their latest 2011 project.

Thats much sexier to look at than my daily driver lancer

That is nice, so there is a evosoul club in California? you know the last 2 GTS I've seen driven on the road were driven by 40+ year old ladies. one was silver and the other was guns metal color, I was like wahhhhh an old lady driving a lancer GTS O_O.

I have a GTS-MT & an ES Sport-CVT, both 09. The GTS is quicker off the line, and the ES-S seems quicker 55-90, sometimes.

That is a pretty Evo. Any idea what rims are on that?

I hate the traction control on this car. HATE. It likes to throw on the brakes when I pull out into traffic. Um, yeah, I'm trying to speed up here...not slow down and get hit. Even worse is that I have to hold down the button for three seconds to turn it off. If I know what the button's for and what it does, yes, I am absolutely certain I want it off. I'm not going to change my mind in the course of three seconds.

It's fine in the wet (read: I had too much fun in the dry and now my tires are gone), but in the dry--barf.

I fear the day when everyone around me relies on traction control to save them instead of themselves...but that's a whole 'nother rant.

Mitsu's system (as it is on my '10, anyway) could use a bit of refining. It's overly paranoid on dry pavement.
