=( just 4 months...

Friday sep 30th I was driving and this korean lady driving a Sienna comes out of nowhere making a left and implants her license plate on my driver side bumper/fender and smacks me into the curb... now my gts isn't moving at all, the wheel was smashed in at a slight angle. Been stressing the pass few days trying to find a legit body shop that hopefully can replace all the parts with oem. At the same time I am hoping for a total loss and purchasing a new GTS. When does the 2012 GTS comes out and anyone know the different on the interior and exterior? crossing my fingers that they rule it a total loss.... I took photos...

Her fault? Hopefully her insurance will cover all your losses

Just got call from body shop yesterday and they are estimating it at 16K to repair, waiting for my insurance to go out there and confirm. Does this mean its a total loss? Insurance buying me a new car???

from what i remember....an insurance company will total a car if it costs around 50% of the value of the car to repair...im not completly sure. every company's policy is different.

16K? That's got to be a total.

I think to be a total loss it has to be like 70% of the value of the car.

I got a feeling it will be TOTAL, but being total means they will pay me the value of the car current price.... which is lower than what I paid at the dealer.... and I still owe money on the car and I'm sure it is higher than what the insurance is going to give me for the total.... meaning, I got hit and I lose my car and I have to pay the bank the remaining balance after the insurance company pays the value... which means I'm totally ****ed and the accident wasn't even my fault! OMG..... stressing right now. Anyone got any idea how this works???

I had an accident similar to this with mine when the car was just a couple months old as well.. Cost me 15k to repair. However, it wasn't a total. Hopefully you get your car back!

just got off the phone with my body shop and they told me they might not total it, the guy said usually they would negotiate a price to repair it and its usually lower than the initial estimate price. omg accident is so stressful when you have a brand new car, if I was driving my 2000 civic when the lady hit me, things would be way way easier......

Make sure you pick up gap insurance if you do end up picking up a new car. Of your car gets totaled and you still owe the insurance pays the remaining balance. Meaning you don't owe a damn thing

Yea sometimes they'll negotiate a lower price. My sisters car should have been a total but they negotiated a lower price and got it fixed instead.

Maybe the Korean lady was flossing her teeth and then the floss flew up into her eyes and blinded her. That would explain why she just blind sided you.

yes if you don't owe a damn thing also you don't have a damn thing..... you lose your car, and the down payment and the months you spent paying for the financing..... all down the drain.... and I do have GAP but from the sound of it, the body shop is willing to take a cut to repair it. I'm crossing my fingers to hope they do a good job. my car is damaged from driver side rear to passenger side front.... she hit my driver side fender/rim and since I was driving straight it kept scraping my car doors and partial of the car body at the rear bumper..... and I ended up hitting the curb hard at the passenger side wheel. 3 of my rims are scratched up.... how do they repair that????
