From my experience yes. Maybe you'll feel differently. I was wholely unimpressed with mine.

OK. Thanks. I'll have to consider the future of the Densos now...

ngk goto advanced auto or pep boys or something, they usually dont have the lancer ones in stock their gonna have to order them from the warehouse, always buy a second set just so you always have extra plugs plus their like 1.99 a peice

i use denso it22's in my lightning

but for the lancer i'd use ik16's then when i get the turbo in there ik18's

with more boost you need a colder plug.

also, my it22 haven't fouled with 14psi of boost with a 12:1 air/fuel

also at higher rpm denso's will not misfire at all !

remember with more power/boost the smaller the gap too

i gap .034 for 425 rwhp in my lightning, i'd probably gap the lancer at .040 or .042 with a turbo at 6psi

do the Densos and NGK ones come spaced already, or do both of those require you to make the gap yourself?

no, they come factory gapped, but not to a specific application. just don't use a normal plug gapper, it will break them. use a go/no-go gapper

My Denso Iridium plugs came with the correct gap. I checked them first.

always check the gap..if the box was dropped it may have bent a tip down a little. also i agree...no sense in buying plugs that cost more then $3.00 a piece...unless you have a race car. i was going through a set of plugs a month when i had my turbo on since i had to run a heat range colder..but its sucks because your idle is still the same so thats when they get fouled. thats why i just got the $1.99 NGK's BKR7E-11 (stocks are BKR5E-11)

I agree with hobie, i've used NGK's for years with over 9 cars and tried different plugs on each one, ngk's are my preference and they're wickedly priced!

you can always adjust your throttle body stop screw, then re-position the throttle body position sensor (tps) to .98 volts at idle

Bosch Platinums were actually pretty impressive. We threw them in my brothers car and it fixed some of his stall issues and so forth that he was having with the turbo. It also idled a lot smoother... but the downside is that because the electrode is so small they can foul relatively easy. But nice plugs and aren't too expensive.
