Denso Iridiums

I have been trying to find denso iridium spark plugs for my 03 lancer ES and havent been able to find them, i went under the denso web site and no listing for the plugs also i called one of their distribution centers and they dont have a listing either, i tried NGK as well and nothing. I went on ebay the other day and they have them in there for the lancer but if i checked all other sources can i be sure that these plugs are for the lancer? Can anyone give me some info on this.

denso are good plugs but why pay $60 for plugs when you can get the same performance from a $1.99 NGK plug

Well, that's only if you believe that you get the same performance. Many people on here have spoken highly of the Denso, so I trusted that. It's along the same lines as "why buy Castrol when you can get Wal-mart oil cheaper?" It's just a matter of preference and what it's worth to you.

To elaborate on this, I found his post on the "I Need Torque" thread... (I thought it was helpful)

You won't notice a significant gain (if any) from changing plugs alone. Trust me. I've done it. I've used several different kinds of plugs (stock, Denso Iridiums, NGK's, middle of the road priced NGK Iridiums, and now I'm going on to my 5th set).

Yeah, sorry about being so brief. Kinda pissed and I'm at work thinking about quitting. Anyway...

No noticable gains and my iridiums fouled FAST when extra fuel was introduced. I'd recommend against spending the extra and go with somethind else. If you're dying to spend the money, get a small show mod or save more and buy something else. Not really the way to go IMO.

So Hobes - if I have just a CAI and downpipe, do you recommend that I put in the Denso iridiums with my Magnacore wires, or should I just sell them and get some cheaper ones?

Just wondering what you think since you have way more plug experience than I do...

I haven't upgraded wires. Maybe it would make a difference with them, maybe not. I have no experience with that type of setup and my car 1. is not running and 2. is so far from what most people are running right now that it's not a good basis of comparison.

I was running the $60 Denso Iridiums when I was using bolt-ons and when I first when turbo, and the only thing I noticed was an occasional drop in idle RPMs (never stalled) and a smoother idle. Otherwise no gains, no complaints.

So basically, I spent $40 on some plugs I don't really need when I could just as easily spend $10 and feel exactly the same?

(as DJ eyes the Private For Sale board...)
