Hi Guys,

Im considering buying a 02 or 05 Lancer to strip down and turn into a pure track toy and was hoping to do a 4G63T conversion on it.

For the guys that know about this stuff (non guesses) is it possible? Also would the stock transmission mount up and be able to handle it or should a look for another transmission and which one?

Finally would the stock ecu be able to handle this change with a flash or should I go for an aftermarket unit.

Yes it can be done. No you have to get an evo ecu the stock lancer one will not work with a 4G63 engine due to a couple pins not connected that are needed. The stock lancer trans will not bolt up to this engine. I believe there is an eclipse trans that will bolt up to this and make it FWD.

 

this is been chewing my brain for a while, there was a guy from like romania or something posted pics of his Ralliart in the 04-06 RA section, and from the factory it came with weird stuff, like rear adjustable head rests, and a 2.0L 4G63 non-turbo, and FWD...but the chassis code was different than a North American Ralliart.

But if Mitsubishi did it in some countries, then it can be done.
