How can you make short ram intake?

I know I sound cheap if I ask this. But I have a lot of time on my hands since i'm on break from school, and I don't have a whole lot of money and I know some people made intakes themselved for really cheap, so I just wanted to ask.

Is it really hard? Can someone tell me how to make a short ram intake or whatever intake from parts I can buy at retailers? And if possible, list the parts too?

OK nevermind. I found this website. I'm too scared to play with my lancer, but when I get the courage...

Just go to someone like Road Race Engineering and buy some mandrel bends and some straight pipe. The only tricky part will be the MAS adapter and/or the filter adapter

I can agree with that but why doesn't the guy just buy the short ram kit from RoadRace themselves and save any possible hassle .

It's not just about saving money though, you can look at it and say: yeah, i made that part. You created it and made it work. That to me is more important. You get the learning experience and a sense of accomplishment. I am not saying that buying a pre-fit part is wrong or anything like that, but if you have the time, there is no reason why you can experiment

Yeah! First, air intake, next, intercooler or supercharger ram intake, like on the Interceptor in Mad Max with the switch on the dash. Wouldn't that be a trip? Flip the switch, instant air-induction. Had a 71 Charger with a 440 Magnum and Holley double pumpers under the hood with a switch for the ram intake that lifted up three inches (kind trippy). But this Aussie Falcon rox!

The Mad Max car was outfitted with a supercharger but it was fake casing over a working carburator. Other modifications included the square headlights, nose cone and roof spoiler from a XC Falcon panel van first used by Ford in a show car. In Mad Max 2, two large fuel tanks were placed in the back.

I'm gonna continue this post in another thread...
