I have a new 2012 lancer es it has 1,100 miles on it i bough it with 80 miles and have only had it for a few weeks and i have noticed a very strong gas smell in the oil and coming from the exhaust and into my car it also has a ticking noise in the motor the gas gauge fluctuates a lot it barely starts sometimes and it gets stuck at 6000 rpm and doesnt shift it has a cvt transmission is all this normal?

 

No, I can assure you this is NOT normal. I have a 2009 Lancer GTS CVT with 45000 miles on it and I have never experienced this. You need to have your car checked out soon.

 

Thanks alot for the help i took it to the dealer and they said its perfectly normal i laughed and if there is gas in the oil it can explode and kill us i had to fight with the dealer to do something and finally he is gonna exchange us cars will keep this updated

 

You have a stuck open fuel injector.

Make them identify and fix it as well as perform an oil change.

 

Thanks for all the help after fighting with the dealer they finally decided to exchange us vehicles i am now in a 2013 red es and it drives like a dream they are also putting a free spoiler and alloy gas cap
