sketchy gas stations
sketchy gas stations
every gas company seems to have their own tankers to deliver their gas to the stations. u see it all the time, tankers with shell logo on the side at a shell station, tanker with chevron logo at chevron, etc.
I noticed that a local gas station is getting gas from a tanker without its companys logo. instead the tanker has reinhard petroleum on it. I dont know anything about the refinery process, but seeing that each company has their own tankers, this seems sketchy to me.
I dont want to start a debate on which gas company has the better gas for my car, but my question is:
Is this station buying cheaper inferior gas and selling it as their own?

Put some in and run it. You will know the first time you make a pull. I've experimented with all sorts of gas around here since I don't have E85 near my house. But for whatever reason, Unocal 76, 92 pump knocks the least on my setup with meth. I have no idea why. I thought Cheveron and Shell is the good stuff.
BP, Mobil, Shell, etc, will use their trucks to refill their (franchised) stations. In many circumstances the gas will all come from the very same refinery, but each will add their own "special sauce" in additives. The "no-name" gas station simply relies on a "no-name" trucking company to get the gas from the very same refinery... he just might not be including any additives or a different blend.
My family owns a 76 Gas station in millcreek. We are contracted through connacophillips, so we are required to use only gas from the 76 gas refinery. Any privatly owned gas station, sometimes companies like texaco, cheveron use cheaper gas to make more profit. Shell is a great company, majority of the people i know either fill there or at 76.

1. Company goes to refinery and gets the gas.
2. Brings it to their company site, whether it be their own refinery or whatever.
3. adds their additives
4. delivers it to their gas stations using their trucks.
if this is in fact what happens, then isnt it sketchy that this station gets its gas from a truck that doesnt belong to the company? and this station is a franchised station, not one of those that u have never seen before.
