So my 02 OZ rally sounds like a diesel, and was running like crap. My wife says "It sounds like a bunch of bolts in the dish washer" lol. I pulled the head and found puddling of oil on three of the pistons which is quite concerning, I then pulled the lower oil pan and ran a magnet in the upper pan and found no metal. I will be pulling the oil pan but if this is a spun bearing it is interesting that nothing has been torn to pieces.

The only thing I could think it might be is maybe the pressure plate loosened up, but it engages in gear perfectly, I thought maybe the engine was externally balanced but on a 4 cylinder I realized they should be internally balanced since they don't run two banks like I am used to lol.

Well to update a dead thread.

I ended up having a new motor put in. They screwed up a few things so I spent some time fixing those little crappy mishaps.
