Question Switching mani for header...

Hey everybody, just a quick question. I was told that I couldn't put a header on my 02 Lancer ES in replace of the OEM manifold, because it won't pass inspection for emissions. Is this correct? Has anyone experienced this or had problems with getting through inspection(s)? Please let me know, because I have already bought the header and it's on it's way, but went back and bought a new OEM manifold with cat, just in case, but don't need both. Thanks for any information or help.

as long as the headers have a o2 sensor and your second cat still works, you won't have anyone hassle you. just make sure you use a no Fowler on the downstream o2 so the sensor doesn't throw a code

^^ what he said. I'm running from turbo back with no cat at all and I still passed emissions. If they were to look under my car, they could fail me for visual inspection. But most places don't even know that the stock header has a warm up catalyst

Thanks for the input, but had to get it inspected a month ago, so, I went ahead and replaced the stock manifold. I will be upgrading later, but for now it had to be done.

Well I ended up not actually changing the manifold, but I did upgrade a few months ago to the header and just had the car inspected a few days ago. Everything passed, so, thanks again guys for your inputs.
