HORSEPOWER increase
Steve is right -
Our cars arent that much to begin with for most of us, like mine was used with 20K miles for like 9K which is very good deal i think and i got it over a year ago. So i mean if i turbo or SDS it, it will be like 13,000$ or something, which still is cheaper than a lot of cars with less hp than it would have after the turbo.

that's why we all do the installing ourselves
I'm doing a forged internals swap on my MP3 this spring. And doing a clutch and pressure plate this weekend (today actually). So it's just a matter of having some ok tools and a lot of guts. None of is that hard. No offense and not to sound like an ***, but most of the people who do the work on your car at a dealer aren't usually the brightest bulbs. Plenty are, but you also have probably met plenty that aren't!

lol.
Ya just try doing it yourself, i know a ton of people on these boards have intalled their turbo's themselves. and if you start with the basic intake and catback and then headers you will start to gain knowledge and then when the turbo finally comes you will have a better idea of what you are doing so you can do it right. Also, from what i've heard if you call RRM ** if you buy their kit ** they will answer any questions you will have and assist you threw the install or parts that you have trouble with.

One thing I did forget is what is cheap.... you can make a cheap turbo kit yourself for abotu 1 G, if you use used parts and have access to a couple tools and equipment. You could have a nice 7 - 8 psi boosted setup for cheap and it would make you happy.
Of course for a 300HP Lancer, it is not impossible. I am about 90% of the way to a 300HP car myself. But it does (and did) take a buttload of money, relatively speaking.

well u can get a t25 for like $100, 2g fuel walbro fuel pump $100, s-afc $250, rising rate fpr $150, bov $30, wastegate $?? and ur done....than u can add an intercooler if u want for $150+ than all u need is piping and oil return lines etc etc. but that is the jist of it.
those are all used prices for the most part, but that will get u 7-9psi but u'll probably need new injectors, the 3g eclipse 4g64 engine uses the same injectors so aftermarket ones should work(according to Hobie)

There is a lot of work and it can be hard to find some of the used parts. Do lots of research and make sure you have a way to get the piping done for an affordable amount. Then go for it, but yes you can custom turbo your car for 1-2g's. Just make sure you know what you are doing, and have lots of time to deal with problems, and budget an extra 50% for problems as well. The rule with turbos is if that you are willing to spend 3g's for the system, make sure you have an extra 50% (or about 1500 in this case) available to fix or repair problems. There are ALWAYS unseen charges that add up. Things like getting the wastegate dumped into the exhaust, putting on the oil tap line, miscellaneous welding. Getting the turbo flange to seal up nice to the header, etc etc etc. Not to mention all the gages you really need and shoul have (like wideband... if you are going turbo talk to me and I may be able to build you a wideband for far less than what it costs to get one currently and so forth.)

injectors dont work to well...its been tried....the ECU sends diff signals since we have saturated injectors and the 2g eclipse have peak/hold
but yeah the stock 2g pump is good enough for 5-6 psi. intercooler is 100-150 probably and can grant u 2-3 more PSI safely.
just remember u HAVE to be able to feed it fuel...it NEEDS fuel lol. so don't try and skimp out on fuel.
k im done...ive talked to hobie, sdhotwn, kar33m, jvlancer, zlancer a little about turboing...so i feel safe that i can do it
they are my heros!
this summer i think im just gonna be getting all the 'fuel' out of the way than next summer ill be able to get off work for a few weeks and visit my bro in Vegas and we can hook it all up.

oh....and to tell u 'where' u can get this stuff at...
www.ebay.com -- go on flame..but there are some good people on there, get a Starion Turbo/Intercooler on here(might do this instead of eclipse, depends on price), rising rate FPR's, S-AFCs
www.dsmtrader.com -- ANY 1g/2g eclipse part you'd need, be it the Turbo, Intercooler, BOV, Wastegate, Fuel Pump, even S-AFC and FPR's, they got just about everything u'd need.
also having a brother that can custom weld and bend pipes is pretty sweet to
forgot about gauges...they can get pricey for good ones.. Air/Fuel Gauge(100+) and if u get Wideband thats like an extra 2-300 i think. Boost Gauge is 100-150, Oil Pressure(if u want), Exhaust Gas Temperature(higher temps means ur running lean...a 'basic' way of tuning)
i think thats all for gauges...anyone correct me if i missed one.
