Engine Rebuild?

Ive been thinking, being I wanna turbo... I think it would be a good idea to rebuild my engine in the mean time. Being I'm about to get my exhaust in a few days/a week, and my appearance is where I want it. I should begin to prep my motor to handle boost in the future. Its got 160,000 miles now. Its getting old. Anyone know what I should do? I just don't want it getting a knock, I'd rather take care of her now before its too late. You know? So let's here some options please. My friend just got a whole rebuild kit for 285$ for his 2g eclipse/Aka talon. I wanna keep this car for a long time. So just give me some ideas. I wanna do a full tune up and keep my baby going strong! RRM has a stage 2 rebuild for 1.1k... not looking for that. A few hundred is okay. Just nailed a job at my school so I got a steady income for a few months.

I think it'd be interesting to do an oil analysis to see if you've been losing metal. Unless you know the history on your car at that milage things could go either way. Mine is at 170 but had it since 50k. Obviously I know in detail the maintenance history. Do you?

Not at all. How would I go about that? I had it after I crashed my 2002 lancer, around 140xxx.
