I have the NGK Iridiums (www.optauto.com should list the correct model). They have been fine for 2,000 miles so far.

I've had my NGK's for just over 7000 miles and love them. I've heard good things about denso but they are expencive.

Iridium . . . I'm not big on them, unless forced induction + NOS + very aggressive timing.

If you got the model listed for the Lancer specifically, they are already gapped. If not, you need to gap them.

This is my experience with my car, even though it is not a "Lancer" per se.

Bosch Plats after a couple hundred miles, started fouling up and misfiring. Yep, they were gapped properly. NGK has been my plug of choice and I have had no problems whatsoever with them.

Go NGK, is my advice to you all.

I used to think platinums were the way to go, but the reason they foul out is because they are completely surrounded by ceramic. Platinum is a great conductor, but burns to quickly in this environment. It will eventually receid into its insulator. Poor spark. Iridium is great high density conductor. Ask a lot of people at the track(land or water) and they run standard NGK's. Good plugs, cheaper plug changes in an environment where they see heavy duty use.
