Last year I was running a 1400W amp in my lancer powering two 10 in subs. I took them out once I started noticing a whining noise coming from the engine. It's been awhile now with out the subs and the whining is still there. Winters over and I'm getting into modding my car up but I want to take care of the main problems first. Its an 08 lancer with 100,000+ miles on it. CVT trans so I notice the whine more when I hit the higher rpms. I just know it wasn't there when I bought the car and when I had my subs in my music was always too loud to notice the engine. So I'm trying to pinpoint the problem. Anyone replace their alt yet? Is it hard? Do they make an alt with more watts?
