Hondata is pretty incredible. Here's my list of mods(from my sig on clubrsx.com):

2003 APB RSX Type-S
Hondata #4
Hondata Gasket
Greddy Evo Exhaust
AEM V2
DC Sports Header
Unforgettable Test Pipe
Casper's O2 Sim
17" SSR Competitions
35% Tint All Around
BassLink

Favorite Mod :
High Beam Garage Door Opener

1/4 - 14.4 @ 95mph
60' - 2.2

All of those net about 30 hp to the wheels. In a month or two, I'll be adding Toda N2 cams for another 30 to the wheels. Anyway...

I just bought the RRM SRI for $100 shipped, and the magnaflow for $305 shipped (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=1). I have about $100 left over for a test pipe. Any thoughts on this? I know the OZ has 2 cats. Should I replace both of them? Will I throw a CEL if I do this without an 02 sim?

As for the search issue, I REALLY did try to find the information I wanted. It's not like I posted this 5 minutes after I got my account. I did a good hour or reading through posts and searching BEFORE I posted this.

Excellent decision there, and you got a great deal. I have the same exhaust and I love it. Go ahead and get the test pipe, but if you want to take out the other cat, you gotta get a new header. That's going to cost you.

Nice 60' time you got on that run there. What tires did you use?

Now, onto your gf's Lancer... If you want the most performance out of that $500, get her a set of tires. If she wants to feel fast, just get her whatever fart can exhaust and an intake and call it a day. Whatever manufacturer exhaust/intake won't make much of a difference.

ah man. i wish i came across your thread sooner. i would have recommended something other than the rrm intake for sure, and got my magnflow catback shipped for under 300. anyhow, lets make do with what you've got...

first, i wouldn't recommend the test pipe because:
1. you will throw the cel without the o2 fix and
2. it is OBNOXIOUSLY loud.

i can't think off the top of my head what kinda mod you might want to get for 100 bucks, other than a strut bar. dcsports just came out with one that should fit the 04, looks 10 times better (and is better engineered) than rrm and costs the same if not less. that would help in the handling, or just invest a bit more and get some progress springs. check out www.ptuning.com for some good deals.

and just so you know, the search engine here BLOWS. you have to become a pro with it before it ever helps (aka not newbie friendly).

good luck with everything, and feel free to PM me with any questions.

test pipe did NOT throw a CEL for my car. Just make sure the one you are getting has an o2 bung in it. I had an SRI and buschur catback exhaust. I've tried it with and without the stock cat (with test pipe in place of cat) and IMHO there is very little difference in the sound. I do notice a difference in the butt-dyno however.

Your not gonna be able to replace the 1st cat unless you get an aftermarket header. Always keep in mind if youhaveta pass emissions testing.

If you have a hundred bucks and are not sure about the testpipe, a front upper strut bar or springs are both excellent ideas and can be gotten for about that much.

Test pipe will not throw a CEL... header will throw a CEL. If you get a test pipe and header... it has been said that it gets very annoying, winny, weedeater sounding.

I have dunlop SP5000 rubber on my SSR Competitions.

Has anyone here replaced the muffler end cat without replacing the header? I would think that only replacing one cat would still retain some of the sound muffling properties.

uranium9v, I'll pm you.

As far as the springs go, I wouldn't feel right changing the springs out without changing the shocks. Wouldn't that ruin the stock suspension by putting too much stress on the shocks? If I did modify the suspension, I'd probably go with coil overs, which are way out of our price range.

So, I think that's it. With all of your help, I've decided on the RRM SRI, the magnaflow exhaust, and the RRM test pipe. All of this for around $450. I'll save the extra $50, and put it in a cookie jar with "Piggyback ECU" written on it. If anyone here ever needs any question answered about a honda or acura, pm me. Thanks!
