Engine bogging out when going up hill

Engine bogging out when going up hill
I have a '13 GTS with 40k miles. Going uphill I noticed it bogs out and has a weird whined up toy kind of noise coming from the engine. Has anybody else had this problem? I recently had the alternator changed too
