Question ignition system faq

ok now the lancer has 4speed automatic but doesnt got the electronic overdrive feature with it now im wondering is the electronic over drive some sort of ignition system.
if it was should an ignition system be gotten for improved gas milage and all that is intilted with it??

The whos'it gone what to the how now? Your question is a bit hard to "decipher". Are you asking about performance through ignition upgrades?

Um... lets do some clarification.

The 4 speed auto IS an automatic overdrive tranny. 4th gear has a ratio of less than 1:1, thus the engine is spinning slower at high speeds, hence "overdrive".

Ignition is what sends the spark to the spark plugs and creates the BOOM that ignites the air and fuel in the combustion chamber, causing teh piston to be shoved back down the cylinder, creating power, etc etc.

Will an ignition system improve gas mileage? Maybe, one or 2 mpg at most.

WTF does "intitled" mean?
