My $20 short ram

50 state legal!!!!!

so I bought a filter and adapter off ebay. built my own bracket for it. not sure If I mounted it in the right spot, but it works

still CA smog legal, as it doesn't interfere with any smog equipment --- this is a short ram, not a CAI --- really, I am not worried about hot engine air, when moving, it really isn't that much higher than ambient temp -- throttle feels a little more responsive, and it feels like it pulls harder at WOT

BUT really, I like the WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH sound it makes when I floor it.....

If it doesn't have a carb sticker it's not legal. As soon as your hood is popped that will be the first thing they'll see and ask about. Obviously it depends on the police/smog tester.

it has to have a sticker? really? what is the regulating body of this legislation? can the stickers be issued by request if criteria is met? seems crazy...sorry about your luck...I would move, lol...my car would be crazy illegal there, yet I pass emission testing here every 2 years...

on topic though, that adapter looks pretty cool...I had to look on ebay to believe it was only $20, lol...it would still actually be a good idea to put a box around that filter, and duct it...

actually, this is incorrect..... it does not need a CARB EO sticker as it does not change any of the factory piping after the required equipment. I have already checked the rules, and checked it with a smog tech

I made no modifications to the required equipment as identified on the vehicle's emission control label

also, don't worry cranswick, it is a california thing

If the filter is a cheap no name.... keep an eye on it. I did the same years ago to my 2002 oz rally. Filter (cheap) fell apart from the heat/vibration.
