Can a 2000 Galant engine work in a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer the Galant engine is a 2.4 the Mitsubishi Lancer is a 2.0

I'm pretty sure the engine in the Galante is a the engine with the 4g64 code and it has a different mount than the 2.0 and a couple of other things that would be needed for the seap. Search on here. A couple of people of done it. Not cheap or faster than just swapping in another 2.0

what if I have the engine and transmission would that just be easier switch and would I also have to weld new engine mounts or should it line up

There are two more issues. From my understanding you would need the internals of your transmission and the housing of the galants and put them in there. You'd also need to custom fab. A motor mount and there was also the issue of the ecu, wiring harness, and the immobilizer that came on certain cars.
