Hey guys, I was wondering how hard it is to put in a Downpipe and a Header? What tools do I need? What should I watch out for? How should I go about doing it? How do I extend the 02 sensor if need be? I ran a search on this but couldn't find any information that would help. So I need your help guys.
I'll save you a search. The only problem most of us had is the lower left nut on the exhaust manifold. I used the turn the wrench a little at a time method. Some say you can use a wobble adapter, but I tried it and it would not fit. Others notch the power steering pump bracket to fit the socket in. And some say to pull off the timming belt cover and bend the thin metal out of the way to fit a wrench. The O2 wire should reach. Tools you need are wrenchs, sockets, extensions and a ratchet. 12,14,15, and 17 MM should be about it. Maybe a flathead screwdriver.

so all i got to do is lift the car, make sure its high enough and unbolt and bolt back on? What if I have to extend the o2 wire? Do I even have to have the o2 wire in?
You dont need to raise the car at all, when I put my headers in there was just enough ground clearence to fit under the car to manuever a wrench in order to get at the header/downpipe bolts. You should go aheaed and screw the o2 sensor back into the new header, you really dont want loose wires underyour hood . lemme know if you need anymore info

).And on top of that... those screws are on there pretty tight. I ended up breaking a socket on 1 of them. It was not the best socket ever but still...

From someone who isnt that knowledgeable with cars - it wasnt that bad. Like everyone else said u just gotta watch out for that lower left nut, everything else, i guess also for the downpipe connection to the rest of the exhaust is kind of a ***** too, but its pretty easy, and if your strong and have the right tools shouldnt take u too much tmie at all.

yah... thats wat i was thinking blaze, is it safe to use jacks like that? or should i find someone with a lift? cuz I know for shure that i can't get under my car to loosen the bolts around the downpipe
see heres the problem, when i was unscrewing the bolts that connected the stock header and downpipe, I was moving the whole car with the torque wrench, now imagine a car moving like that on jacks, these bolts are a *****, you will need some upperbody strength to crack all the caked on rust so there will be a decent amount of movement. Best to leave it on the ground and swivel yourself into place of get the pro lift like I said b4
