obx short air intake problems

My friend that owns an auto shop installed an obx short ram intake on my 02 lancer oz. It was working fine for a couple of hours...all of a sudden the "Service Engine" light turns on, a few minutes after that my car just shuts off completely.

so i put back my oem intake and everything is fine now except for the "Service Engine" light that's still on.

oh my cars an automatic as well, any suggestions

i put this in the forced induction forums as well sorry for the double post topic

did he disconnect your battery for at least 15 minutes before he installed the short ram? this resets the ecu, then when you finish the install, reconnect the battery and run the car for 10-15 minutes so the ecu can relearn using the increased airflow... i did mine myself and no CEL has come on ever.

stock air sensor. what are you talking about? i've installed about 5 intakes on different lancers and i havent seen that. where does it connect to? like jtc stated your suppose to disconnect the battery before installation, and reconnect after the intake is installed. turn the car on, and leave it on without touching ANYTHING (no revving no nothing) for a good 10-15 mins to let your MAF adjust itself
