I've never seen this problem with an RRM header... in fact i've taken mine on/off several times repairing leaks and doing bolt checks. I had my gasket go out from my header to my uppipe a couple times... due to my bolts coming loose and it burned it out. Was my fault as i heard it and took my sweet time to check it.

I usually just take the assembly out for bolt and gasket checks when i think there is an issue. I've never gotten a new exhaust manifold gasket... NEVER!! I'm still using the original one from when i baught the car. Never have had an issue.

I know the new headers from RRM are CNC'd and checked. But i've never had an issue with mine and it's a second gen one.

i second that. taken it off 3 or 4 times, not leaks, i did have a leak where the header met the up pipe but that was my own damn fault for not tightening it down cause i have girly hands.

I have the newest rrm header generation which ever that is.

I believe the tourqe specs for the bolts on the header are 12ft lbs on the bolts and 14ft on the 2 outside bolts.

I tourqed mine down to that with a tourqe wrench. And some of you may have known that I have a sputtering problem. I looked and there is like a black buildup up around the corner of the header. Could it be leaking? And could and exhaust leak make your car sputter and like hesitation?

Sorry for jacking the thread.

This is on a car that's running. I don't think that would be a very good idea.

Correct. Verified by service manual for the non-believers.
