rrm piggyback ecu?
rrm piggyback ecu?
how much of a performance gain will i get out of this. it would be on an auto(unfortunately). i would just like to know if anyone has them or knows a little about them. email or pm me and give me some knowledge. also what are some good powre gains that are available for car?
yes do a search...
but im my opinion this is hands down one of the best mods for the money...no other mod will give you as much gains for the same amount of money.
intake and exhaust together will easily cost you 450 dollars...the piggy will give you a higher gain than both of those combined...yes but you do have to use 91 octane or higher...why are you even using anything lower?

Again for all you regular ECU people out there, If you use 91 octane in a lancer without the ecu upgrade you will get horrible gas milage. That's why you use 87.

well i have an automatic and i've had the Piggy for about 4 monthes now and, though it may be a little tedious to get it going after installation- meaning i was worried after the 20 mins of setting it in, it wouldnt work, but it did. right about in the first and second gear you feel a sudden push around 3000 rpm, then in 3rd gear it just keeps going and going all they way till you hit 100mph, then it will switch gears- keep in mind i was flooring it.

gas stations eat this stuff up. that's why they call their gas "premium" and "super", people think it is a better kind of gas and pay more money needlessly. if you think you are getting better performance, it is all in your head. you buy the better stuff, drive a little harder, and think it is helping. all it is is a less combustable gas for higher compression engines to eliminate engine knocking.

Also I clean my fuel injectors everytime I change my oil by using one of those gas additives like Gum Out. That will help in the long run. Using fuel additives otherwise is just stupid.

Well, I see this thread got hijacked. As Hobie said, run a search on octane. Many excellent articles have been written explaining it. In short, higher octane for a car that doesn't need it is a waste of money, but it will neither gain or lose any noticeable gas mileage.
Back to the piggyback, search for the dyno runs and see what piggyback Lancers are putting out compared to others. They get similar peak numbers, but the piggyback Lancers are getting a smoother power curve that gets high earlier and stays there longer, and the air/fuel ratios are excellent.
