Hey guys im not really new to evolutionm but this is probably my first post i jus had to let you guys know... i was browsing through this computer at a local race shop here in orlando and i stumbled apon this mugen power CAI at first i though it might have been fake but no after checking out some sources it looks like mugen acctually makes a aftermarket part for the us lancer... well i was so iexited that i decided to buy it i used to have a SRI on and when i had put it on i felt some difference but wow wen i got the mugen CAI on the minute i touched the gas i felt i very good difference. ill tell you guys the truth i did not expect such gains from this ill keep u guys posted with pics and number from tha dyno if i can we'll see

well i dont know if its bs but all i can tell u guys is that wen i had my k&n SRI the minute i pulled off after puttin this on i felt huge gains comparing to wut i was expecting and the best thing is i got it for less than 80 dollars with shipping wen mugen retails it for over 200

thats the link for one of them on ebay u can still get them there is only 2 left tho im sure the have more at pro-line thats the business selling them so check it out let me know wut you guys think it was a direct bolt on but did not come with instructions im trying to get my pics and ill post them up

 

Seems like its just a generic cold air intake with Mugen on the side, like those fake ralliart seats. If it was made by Mugen for one I'd expect it to come with instructions.

 

No offense... but that's a generic ebay CAI which u can buy for $5 and some ricer stuck a mugen sticker on it to make it seem more valuable. Quite simply, you got ripped.

 

I'd have to agree with 1amkar33m on that one. You still got a cold air intake for 80$ though, so its not exactly a lose. You just don't have a honda intake in your car as it were.

 

To prevent any further damage to your reputation and the reputation of the lancer owners in general, please tear that mugen sticker off your intake.

 

hmmm well we'll see wut happens tho im telling you all after reading about how the typhoon was going to be such a good intake wen i took it off and put this on i felt more gains all i can say is if this is generic i can tell u its better than others wen i take it to a dyno ill post up more...

 

Why spend money on a dyno just for a CAI? That's a big waste of money IMO. An intake is an intake, this "effect" you're feeling is only wishful thinking. Only gains you'll get is 1hp TOPS. And dont give me this BS about intakes adding 10-15hp cuz for a lancer that is not even close to the truth.

 

i want to know something i want to get the piggy back for my oz its a 5 speed what mods do you guys recomend (in order) before i get the piggy back... so far i have CAI and 2 1/4 custom exhaust which im thinkin of changin out to greddy evoII

 

You dont need any mods for a piggyback. If your car was stock, a piggyback would be an awesome mod to have. But the intake and the exhaust and other basic bolt ons amplify the gains of the piggyback.

 

so u say u had an sri before... well CAI is simply better than SRI... so of course ud feel better in the CAI

 

CAI = SRI for a Lancer... until someone proves me wrong, that will be my statement. It is wishful thinking that makes it seem better, knowing u spent the extra money ur brain decieves you into thinking it performs better. It may sound different but in no way does it improve your performance enough to be called a "gain"
