Replacement Oil Pan?
Replacement Oil Pan?
Ive searched but cant seem to find a replacement oil pan. I know i can get it from the dealer (ha for probably 2 arms and legs) but anyone else know where i could pick one up? I searched the net but nothing helpful.
If you just want a replacement stock pan, I would search local bone yards. You can use www.car-part.com top search local yards. If you'd like, you could go around to local speed/machine shops and have them custom make you a pan. Might be a bit pricey though, but I bet it would be cheaper than buying a new one from the dealer.
If you do buy one from a bone yard, you'll probably have to go take it off yourself. Take a long broomstick (or something long, 1" in diameter, and non-metal) and a hammer. If you look into the engine compartment by the pulleys, you can see a part of the pan sticking out. After undoing all of the bolts (bunch of 10mm, two 12mm, two 14mm), put the broom stick on the part sticking out, and thwack away at it with the hammer. It will pop right off.
