I think Tommi was pissed that Mistu switched platforms mid season. He was doing great in the 6.5 and it is what he was comfortable with.
With the WRC (I won't call it an EVO VII because its not) I think Tommi was not comfortable with it yet, and it surely didn't have all the minor issues worked out.
They should have waited until next season (at least for Tommi).

I think though that Tommi was looking to bail. This was a good excuse since he could blame Mistubishi. If the WRC was doing well, he would have a harder time switching teams without making himself look like a jerk.

 

actually i've been studying the WRC mitsu... i think i got it....

ehehhe maybe it was all those electronics... its messed too much with driver feedback or "feel"

I read an article about the 7 WRC and I can't remember which part of the car it was again, but they decided to start working on a brand new one which will be ready for next year stragiht away. I think it was the transmission. Anyway, they realised (or Tommi) that it was a POS and then started working on a new one straight away instead of trying to put more resources to make it work....

You may be right. I cannot get over my prejudice against the Skoda brand even though both my father and brother have one.

My brother has an original, standard Scooby and a Skoda Octavia Estate for the family and doesn't mind which he drives on a daily basis!

The RS is a very good car, only let down by its image. Just imagine, Skoda is the new Scooby

Me too... could've had the RS as a company car but went for the Seat Toledo V5 instead. Not a bad car but not as fast as the RS... Why couldn't they just give Skoda a new brandname????
