SC or Ralliart?

I was wondering if you guys could help me with your opinions. I just started a new job last week so about March 05 I will have about 6k saved up. I was wondering if I should get a supercharger for my car and just do a bunch of other little things to the lancer or if I should buy a ralliart? I'd rather not have a car payment (mine is already paid off) but mileage is around 84k miles and don't know if supercharging my engine will make it fail at 100k. Please let me know your opinions on this one... I go to sleep every night thinking about what to do!

Okay. But by the end of 2005 I'll be past 100k miles. I live in VA and my dad lives in PA so its a 6 hour drive there and back 3 times a month... Is that bad for the engine if there is forced induction?

Dont worry about it. If you feel it is a concern just put new internals in it, and you got 200,000 no sweat, just do it, and keep up with your oil changes and stuff.

well maybe check out a wrecking yard or ebay for a donor engine. over time have that built up and you would be set. I have seen engine tranny combos on ebay between 450-850 or in that range, add another 100 or so for shipping rhats about 1000 max. Then what do you do with your old engine? rebuild that! thats my 2 cents if you have that cash in that time frame it may take a little longer this way but I think better quality.

another choice could be to sell teh car and get some "real' power from some american muscle which is what i should have done in the first place. i wouldnt get a diff car that is barely better than teh one you have now with teh RA. if you want to stick with your car, id say to go with a turbo bc of the better numbers, knowledge, and support from them.

i was thinking i should get new pistons and rods too so im probably going to order those as well. no i will not be installing it myself i have a friend who owns a shop and he will be installing it for me. not a lot of tuner shops in va beach va area but im lucky i know some people. anyway about american muscle, NO! im through with american cars! my 3 previous cars have been fords and only made it to 100k before each broke down. I don't want turbo because Ive heard too many horror stories... I think supercharger would be safer for me. I'm not trying to be the fastest i just want a little more power. if my car was too fast i know id get in trouble.. when i first bought the lancer i got a ticket for going 105 in a 50 and that was when it was bone stock....

well if you have 6K then you can make sure you dont have problems with the turbo, but really sc or tc, youll still be really slow, just the way our cars are. but if you are jsut looking for a little more power, then teh sc is a fine route.

aint nothin better then building your speed then just buying it IMO and besides its better when people ask what you have and you name alllll the mods you did to your sc lancer instead of you just tellin them you have a ralliart

and if youre worried about your engine not lasting, you can pick them up on e-bay for $200 or a dismantler for as low as $300
