what u think of this idea?

sup guys. u know that trim that goes acros the dash? my trim is a nice wood but its just not my style so im looking to change only that pice, anyone know were i can get just that trim from? im sure the dealer would charge way to much so im trying to avoid doing that if possible.

i did come up with an idea that would cost me next to nothing. im thinking of makeing my own sticker to cover it up. i would u vinal paper, then cut to size and just stick it over the plastic plus i could easly take it off. has anyone done this already?? what u guys think of the idea?

If you can make it look good and clean, I think that a great idea. Be sure to show some pics of it when finished.

Kareem painted that piece and it looks good. A sticker? if you took it off wouldn't the dash be sticky from the adhesive?

You're not likely to have much luck with vinyl I'd think. It'd be nearly impossible to match the contours of it without a wrinkle and the fit would be very tight with that extra thickness to it. I think your best option will be to paint it. It shouldn't be that hard to do, even with a can of spraypaint, so long as you sand it appropriately and paint it in a controlled environment. Or as someone else suggested, find an OZ/Evo/Ralliart-equivalent piece and use that. I'd imagine they aren't as expensive as you'd think and if you get the part number from your dealer and aren't convinced it's a good enough price, then enter it into mitsubishiparts.net and you'll find pretty much the best price around.
