You can just take the downpipe off and put the filter at the end of the MAS airflow sensor. I do it every winter.
You may want to make a bracket that foes from your MAS sensor to a solid location in your engine bay (I used the hole for the lifting point of the engine) This will keep things from shaking and breaking.

I did. I don't think I still have the pictures, though. It'll fit pretty good. Might want to get a new filter, though. The AEM one has the rubber on top and the top is what's facing the incoming air.

Due to the rain here in Oregon, i converted my AEM CAI to an AEM SRI. Basically just remove the filter, remove the bottom part of the piping and clamp the filter to the MAS adapter plate. its quick and easy. That way you won't worry about sucking up water into the intake.

i did it cause seeing water literally dripping off my CAI filter freaked me out.

you want me to take a pic and post it, of what it looks like?

If you could do that Digdat that be great because I would like to see how you clampted it to the MAS sensor, that way when I go outside tomorro morning I know exactly what I need to do.

Thanks for all the Info. It hailed earlier so I hope my roof isnt too scratched.

Actually the one I made was a 5 min ugly job. Thats why I had it covered. I will make another at a later date. Its definatly worth it though considering if your MAS breaks its like $600 to replace (at least it was on the one on the Maxima I broke)

yeah... this is seriously one of the easiest things to do...infact...I could even do it. I sucked some water up when I got my CAI ,and ripped it off. so actually....if anyone needs an AEM downpipe...just PM me with and even remotely ok price, It needs to be put to better use than sitting in my closet.

Hello All,
well well do I have a story for you. For those of you who have and we assisting me with my question to convert my CAI to a Short ram intake I really do appreciate it. I will tell you this Procrastination SUCKS. I have been meaning for some time thoughout this thread to convert my intake because of the massive rain we are getting in Southern Cali. Well we decided to take a drive up to Fraizer Park off the I-5 so my girl could see snow. It was raining a good amound but figured I could make it since Ive driven with my filter low to the ground before. Well 5 minutes into the I-5 inclive on the grade water is sucked up and the car dies. So I pulled over to the side of the road where there is a gravel rest stop with a big tree. car would start but chug and then die. I thought the filter was wet. So a CHP officer stopped and assisted me with saying put something in front of it and then drove off. Weell That didnt work, so went to phase 2 remove CAI and make shorter on the sholder of the I-5. 2 minutes into my work it starts to poor. I get everything off and moved with the Hood closed on top of me, attempt to start the car and it still dies. luckily a friendly 18 wheeler stops to help me out. waits 30 to 55 minutes for me to troubleshoot it and then ask if he has an air compressor. Turns out the MAS had water in it. So we blew out the AF and the MAS put back on and started and drove like a champ. I will have a picture of the work I did in a few days I will post it. But thanks to the truck driver who assisted me and waited almost 2 hours for me to find the problem, if not I would of had a worse day getting a tow.

Well thats my story, Ill post my pic in a few days.
Later all.
