i plug it into your cluster and press some buttons. it changes the mileage on the onboard chip. damn i think a skilled pro like you z_man could buy a stock of bulbs break thenm off their retainers, and transplant through solder some colored ones and rake in the profits.

Hahaha, then you wouldn't be surprised that I've actually tried that! I bought three OEM bulbs from Mitsu dealership, replaced the stock glass with blue ( I really want blue gauges) and had to use some silver epoxy. After they dried, I placed them in the gauges thoroughly pumped. Turned on the lights and *POW* all three bulbs blew. Wattage ratings on the OEM bulbs were different than the aftermarket ones I got. Unfortunately I didn't know that before because the site I bought them from didn't list the wattage. I have some other ideas swimming in the old noggin, but I can't reveal them without you signing a non-disclosure agreement - in case I decide to patent them
