^that looks like a compressed 4g63??? im really confused about this engine... i think i remember the intake manifole folding back further to accomodate the large fuel rail..

 

With that pic, I'm leaning towards the rare 4g93E (DOHC) . . . whether it's the true 4g93T, I can't verify seeing any turbo stuff. One clue: look at the skinny intake mani (log style) . . . the 4g63's IM goes along the length of the block while the 4g93 cuts short and is bigger in size.

I have loaded a pic from YogiB's (from NZ) ex-mirage/lancer (CE chassis) VRX. This is a true 4g93T. Yes, Yogi is on this board. You can PM him to verify the pic of his ex-car. Many kudos for him sharing the pic w/ me.

BTW: The only 4g94 DOHC was the GDI version if I'm correct.

BTW 2: I have added the other pic. Look at the exh mani . . . a true 4g93T would have the same design/style, turbo mani like DSM and Evos. Was the pic on the black lancer taken by first hand experience or copied off the net? If it's the latter, I'm thinking it's a Taiwanese Virage.

There's another couple Aussies in the registry with the motor I want, but they seem to be difficult to find outside of the car.

 

thats the 4g93 1.8 non-turbo found in the 02-03 Lancer Cedia Wagons.

 

from where? i'm sure jdm wagons since '00 had only gdi engines or a regular 1.6

the strut bar looks like it came from the wagon though.

 

but still all these motors won't bolt right up with our lancer's engine mounts??
well assuming that the price and the availability of the motor is not a factor...

 

:edit: i was told by LCWOC [lancer cedia wagon owners club] that they have 1.8 non-turbo 02-03s...but further looking at the picture GDI motor has a oil cap in the front of the valve cover so i'm guessing this is from the older 97-01 lancers?
