Governor on our cars?

Does the lancer have a governor that anyone knows of...i know it's not easy to get to, but i'd be curious to know if we have one. Does anyone know the top speed of the car with stock gearing?

I've seen some posts of people being close to that, would probly take a long straight chunk of road (maybe a little downhill too ? )

I have gone 120+ 1 or 2 mph in a completely stock OZ and had a little room left on the tach. It is not a downhill or straight piece or road either, it is actually a very slight incline with banked sweeping turns. The top speed is all in the gearing not so much the HP. These car are by no means a top speed racer, but they handle well (OZ anyway) in high speeds.

I have traveled (completely stock except lowering springs) at 132 on a slight downhill on I-79 from Pittsburgh to Erie. Car handled beautifully. I don't know how much room was on my tachometer because I was afraid to take my eyes off the road because there were many other cars in the right lane I was passing.

I have hit just above the 120mph mark on my speedo when travling on interstate 69 between Lafayette and Merrilville Indiana. Too bad my best friend in his 2001 Galant ES could not keep up.... He told me it had a V6, but later I find out it has a 2.4lt inline 4. My car is a 2004 Lancer O-Z 5 speed, totally stock engine/ transmission wise. Stock 15" O-Z rims with Yokahama All-Season Tires.
