i was cleanin my car and i let my little cousins do a little interior cleaning. Welll, he used windex on my cluster and interior and i wasn't payin attention. The clock and radio lights are fine, but my cluster lights are faded. Some lights are ok, some are dim, and my lancer light is totally out. How do I fix this?
we can just get the plastic replaced? cuz my gf's brother screwed mine too lol...i mean, i'm glad he was helping me and all but, he took paper towel and totally wiped it hard and now the plastic is al scratched =(
The plastic cover over the guage is available at the dealer, cant remember the Part#. OZ is diferent from ES. Replaced my ES palstic cover over the guages, was $30 or so, 2 week wait coz its special order.
Bulbs are like $3.74 each and there are three large ones and 1 smaller one thats behind the odometer. Its not likely that the windex got all the way to the back side of the cluster. There is a plastic cover that protects the gauges.
you sure the dimmer switch didn't get bumped? i noticed on mine that the "lancer" light is the dimmest one, and when you roll the dimmer switch down it goes completely out before the others. just a thought

My "LANCER" light on the gauge cluster has always been dim. I took it apart and there isn't a spot for a bulb(if I remember correctly) Your guys' is bright?! hmm... But here is a good idea; I don't know if it will help you with your bulbs BUT if your clear plastic cover over the gauge face gets faded from chemicals or scratch from cleaning, take the cover off and wax it with carnuba wax or someother polish wax. I did it to mine and it looks crystal clear!
I noticed that the LANCER light is dimmer too, since I bought an OZ cluster for my ES on eBay I was worried something was wrong with it. I bought the reverse glow gauges, the pic shows the LANCER bright blue so I'll see once I see install it.

I just did the same thing, buying an OZ cluster. I never thought about using wax to clean up the plastic... that sounds like an absolutely brilliant idea... i'm going to take some before and after pics and we'll see how effective it really is, because the plastic on the cover I have had some strange chemical reaction... kinda looks like somebody expelled some very private reproductive fluids on it... :P

If you want i'll pm you but I think im going to do a complete how-to of it. I'll detail everything. Unfortunately, I'm not home right now but i'm going to give it a shot tomorrow night if I've got the time.
I'm oing to predict that it works because when I received my ebay OZ cluster, i figured it should wash the plastic since I had no idea where it was from and when it was wet you couldn't see any scratches or weird stuff. Only when it dried was it visible. Probably the wax filles up the scratches and such, and makes a smooth surface so the light reflects off the even surface, rendering the csratches invisible... but hey we'll find out tomorrow! Might do two trials, i've got some scratch remover at home that might do the trick, if it doesn't work i'll try the wax
