Exclamation JDM Lancer Conversions

I Drive a 2002 Lancer OZ Rally. I'm looking to convert it to right hand-drive but need know where I can find Evo 7 interior parts to do the job. Can anyone help me out on where to find parts at a reasonable price?

Umm....why? Its a lancer, not an evo, the kind of work needed to do this would be huge, and extremely expensive. It'd be cheaper to just buy a used lancer from Japan and have it imported.

yes.. go to Osaka, Japan. They have sweet car dealerships there where you can buy Evo VII and VIII, Skyline's, Silvia's, and Supra's. (Featured on JDM Insider DVD Vol. 2) All RHD. They also have reasonable prices. Doing a right hand drive conversion would not be practical. Sooooo much money would need to be spent. Even if you did get it all put together, I wouldn't trust it.. prolly fall apart soon lol.

you also forget luxury tax that would have to be paid if I brought a JDM Evo over,I'm also putting in a ralliart engine engine in.so it will be alot more money in the long run if an evo was brought over. I'd rather build one.

Well 1. how would you insure it? Not a lot of places would be happy about a car thats been hacked to **** and changed into the wrong side for american roads. 2. The engine would be balanced wrong, manufactures often attempt to balance the car by situating the engine/transmission in the ideal manner. Overall, it would be far more expensive to convert the car to RHD than to just buy a used RHD evo. Hell my brother was offered a used skyline straight from japan for like 27k$ CAD, its all about getting contacts.

Why do you want a RHD car anyways? For show or just for ***** and giggles?

Ever hear of the people who brought a skyline here to the united states to avoid the import hassle? They took it apart piece by piece, boxed up all the parts and shipped them to the US. No worries for changing the specs to US bumpers, emissions, and all the other hassles. It ended up being cheaper than shipping the whole car, making it meet US specs, and going thru customs with all the taxes. Now thats an idea to think about. =]
There is a guy who did it around me. It is the only R34 skyline in Michigan. He is putting the final pieces of it together right now. (1999 gray skyline r34) My friends were taking to him at a local car shop the other day. -True story, I'll try to get pictures of the car when I go to my friends house who lives near him. We go up to Joy Rd. and Telegraph for whoever knows the area well. (southeast michigan) That is were the street races take place. I don't race.. just enjoy watching. heh.

You know what would be an even better Idea....find someone at Kadina AFB in okinawa...air force gets US shipping rates from the base... my dad is stationed over there, but I doubt he wants to take apart an evo...lol...but seriously next time I go over there ( every december) I'd be more than happy to work some stuff out with some people where I'll ship some parts back for pretty cheap.

Yes. Do a search. There's good places where to find things. For starters be sure to check out japanparts.com. They got some things. However, they're for CT9A/CP9A/CE9A Lancer Evolutions. Some of the items for the CT9A (Evo8) would fit onto the Lancer 02-03 (CS6A) or the 04+ Lancer (CS7A). Items like dash parts, mirrors, wing/spoiler, seat, shift knob, gauge meters, etc... . It's all up to you.
